2007 Class B North complete/full predicted order of finish in Saturday RALLY

My pick - OCEAN.

Listed alphabetically
Freehold
Coach: Steve Kochinski (4th year, 39-31)
Last year: 17-8 (10-2 B North)

Key returnees: Jeff Frost (Sr., P/1B, 3-1. 2.41 ERA); Neil Bolton (Sr. 2B); Franco Fabiano (Sr.,
C); Colton Ruggieri (Sr., OF, .346); Ryan Kresky (Jr., SS, .346); Brian Prisk (Jr., 3B/P); Michael Amato (Sr., 2B); Key newcomers: Matt Yuhas (Jr.,OF/P 5-4 at Colts Neck); Joe Quinones (Jr., C).

My outlook: Yuhas, a transfer from Colts Neck, has ace potential. Ironically he defeated Freehold for Colts Neck in the state tournament last season, 5-2, his last start for the Cougars. Kresky blossomed as a
sophomore. As opposed to last year and the booming bat of the grdauated Ryan Cuneo
Colonials plan to emphasize team speed with switch hitters and table setter Bolton who drew 24 walks last season.

Long Branch
Coach: V.J. Muscillo (10th season)
Last year: 5-15 (1-11 B North)

Key returners: Devin Cousins (Sr., P)/1B, 2-5, 4.25 ERA); Ryan Kirsch (Jr., 2B, .375); Josh Weiss, SR., OF, .340); Shawn Brown (Jr., SS, .410); Dave Stone (Sr., C/1B ,.345); Rich Topham (Sr., OF); Chris Zuidema (Sr., OF). Key newcomers: Marcus Jackson (Jr., 3B); Randy Rodriguez (So., P/SS); Brian Gough (So., P/3B); Devin Wright (Jr., C).

Outlook: Should be more competitive with Cousins and several bats returning. Hoping some other arms develop.

Matawan
Coach: John Kaye (10th year, 84-122)
Last year: (11-11, 4-8 A Central)
Key returnees: Julian Sonnenfeld (Sr.. SS, .348, 3 HR, 19 RBI); Nick Chomko (Sr. CF,
.361); Matt Buragina (Sr., 1B/P, .275, 0-1, 1.62 ERA); J.D. Melendez (Jr., INF/P,
.352, 3 HR, 18 RBI); Kevin Knox
(Jr., 3B, .256), Fran Santamauro (Jr., C, .379 DAN GERAN ( Jr., INF/P 3-1 4.42 ERA.
Key Newcomers: Matt Mizerek (Jr., P); Eric Frye (Jr., Util.); Corey Dollear (Sr. Util).
My outlook: Move to B North did not benefit the Huskies.

Monmouth Regional

Coach: Ted Jarmusz (25th year overall 364-230, 20th at Monmouth)
Last year: 18-9 (8-4 B North)
Key returners: Matt Conte (Sr., P, 4-2, 1.34 ERA); Joe Connors (Sr., P, 1-2, 1-2, 2.27 ERA); Jeff Roche (Sr., OF, .286); Mike Sevilla (Sr., SS, .306); Pat Goughran (Sr., C); Cole DeAngelis (Sr., OF, .426); Chad Butler (Sr., 2B). Key newcomers: Kyle Fagan (Jr., 1B); Matt Slowinski (Jr., UTIL); Joe Jacoby (Sr., 3B); Tom Dayback (Jr., OF); Connor Campbell (Jr., P); Matt Den Bleyker (Jr., DH).

My outlook: Never underestimate the Golden Falcons. Conte and Connors may develop into an effective duo. May be looking for pitching depth and a few hitters with pop.

Neptune
Coach: Bob Huzzy (7th year),
Last year: 10-13 (1-11 B North)

Key returnees: Chris Ace (Sr., P/2B, .303, 3-5); Bryan Toohey (Sr., INF/P, .382, 4-5); Damien Horning (Sr., OF, .301);Tom Marks (Sr., INF/P, .310, 2-3); Zach Nelson (Sr., INF, .250, 2 HR); Paul Roberts (Sr., OF); Shawn Scorben (Sr., INF/P, .310, HR, 1-0); Chris Sibole (Sr., OF); Paul Sibole (Jr., OF); Brendan Roddy (Sr., INF). Key newcomers: Tyler Torres (So., INF); Blake Young-Park (So., C).

My outlook: According to our records Neptune has won only four division games since 2001. This veteran team appears to have shot to at least challenge that total.

Ocean
Coach: Del Dal Pra (8th year, 162-80-1)
Last year: 26-7 (10-4 A North)
Key returnees: Keith Weinkofsky (Sr., C, .427, 11 HR, 33 RBI); Eric Hinkle (Sr.,
P/1B/RF, 370, 5 HR, 35 RBI, 5-2, 1.95 ERA); Kyle Norman (Sr., P/SS, 308, 2 HR, 25 RBI,
3-0, 1.25 ERA); Jamie Rosenkranz (So., 3B/P, .305, 2 HR, 24 RBI, 4-3, 2.51 ERA); Tony
DeSantis (Jr., C, .232). Key newcomers: Sean DaSilva (Jr., 3B); Victor Nunez (Jr., DH);
Ed Mejias (Fr., P); Willy Rodriguez (Sr., P/OF); Dave Kaczka (Jr.., CF); Brandon Grieco
(Jr., OF); Neal Yaffe (So., INF); Ed Majias (Fr.P)).

My outlook: As loaded a middle of the lineup as you may may find anywhere coupled
with a veteran staff plus an impressive frosh fireman in Mejias. A state championship caliber club.

Wall
Coach: Todd Schmitt (152-81)
Last year: 16-9 (10-2 B North)
Key returnees: Craig Hughes (Sr., Pa, 5-1, 1.02 ERA); Matt Logan (Sr., 1B, .284 2 HR,
19 RBI); Drew Pinero (Sr., Util., .395); Anthony Cinelli (Jr., 309); Matt Debonis (Sr.,
SS, .265); Andrew Otterberg (.259 2 HR); Mark Pellicchia (Jr., P, 1-0): Brandon Miles
(Jr., P, 1-1). Key newcomers: Dan Camanao (Jr., C ); Kyle Middelton (Jr., C).

My outlook:Hughes (9-4 career) anchors a young but talented staff. Some solid bats
return in Logan, Pinero, and Cinelli. Could be in the mix.
