Ramapo 6, St. Rose, 2, 8 inn. St. Rose ace Anthony Ranaudo strikes out 10 in five innings, but Ramapo scores four in the eighth to hand the Purple Roses their first loss of the season.
Ocean 5, St. Joseph (Montvale)2: Spartans win ninth straight as Kyle Norman cracks a two-run triple and pitches a perfect seventh to get the save.

GAME REPORTS

RAMAPO 6, ST. ROSE 2: Kyle Toner and Bobby Munier delivered RBI singles in a four-run eighth and Tim Decilveo capped the inning with a two-run triple as the Raiders (7-4) deafeated the Purple Roses (9-1), No. 8 in the Asbury Park Press Top 10, in a Shore Challenge game at FirstEnergy Park.

St. Rose ace Anthony Ranaudo struck out 10, walked three and gave up two runs, one earned, on three hits and threw close to 100 pitchers over the first five innings.

John McGrath had an RBI double in the third and Mike Esola tied the game with a sacrifice fly in the fourth for St. Rose.

Owen Stewart and Sean McNally each had two hits for the Purple Roses.

OCEAN 5, ST. JOSEPH (MONTVALE) 2: Kyle Norman belted a two-run triple in the third and pitched a perfect seventh to pick up the save as the No. 2 and surging Spartans (11-3) made it nine straight wins by defeating the Green Knights (12-2) in a Shore Challenge game at FirstEnergy Park.

Eric Hinkle added a run-scoring triple in the fifth and scored on a suicide squeeze bunt by Sean DaSilva.

Junior right-hander Tony DeSantis pitched the first four innings to pick up his first varsity win. Ed Mejias pitched the fifth and sixth innings.

RB CATHOLIC 12, ST. JOSEPH (METUCHEN 2: George Stipisich led a 13-hit attack by going 3-for-3 with a single, double, triple and three RBI, including a two-run single in a five-run first as the Caseys (10-3) rolled to a victory over the Falcons (9-6) at FirstEnergy Park.

Tim Griswold was 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBI and Jeff Couch was 2-for-4 with a two-run single in a six-run fifth inning.

Mike McGann pitched three-hit ball in three innings of relief to pick up the win.

POINT BORO 9, SCOTCH PLAINS 3: Jim Squillante went 3-for-3 with a leadoff homer in the first, a run-scoring single in the second and scored two runs and Pete Chomiak pitched six innings of six-hit ball as the Panthers (5-6) defeated the Raiders (5-6) in a Shore Challenge game at Shore Christian Academy.

Nick Campbell added an RBI double and Shane O'Connor had a sacrifice fly for Point Boro.

Chomiak (3-2) struck out three and walked two.

GOVERNOR LIVINGSTON 15, MATER DEI 6: Brooks Miller's three-run homer highlighted a four-run first inning and the Highlanders (9-2), last year's NJSIAA Group II runners-up, went on to defeat the Seraphs (1-10) at the Shore Christian Academy.

Winning pitcher Brian Wyvratt led a 19-hit attack by going 4-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored.

Mike Pellicane was 3-for-3 with a solo homer and Nick Vecchio 2-for-3 with two RBI for Mater Dei.

LINDEN 7, MANASQUAN 2: Four infield hits highlighted a five-run top of the first inning as the Tigers (8-5) defeated the Warriors (5-6) at FirstEnergy Park.

John Bock was 3-for-4 with three RBI, including a two-run single in the top of the seventh, for Linden.

Chris Van Stolk had a two-run single in the sixth and A.J. Miller was 3-for-3 with a walk for Manasquan.|

FROM SATURDAY NIGHT

CBA 6, PASSAIC TECH 4: Kyle Slate struck out 14 in 52/3 innings and Mike Galeotafiore and Anthony Cirillo combined for five hits and two RBI as the Colts (9-3) defeated the Bulldogs (6-3) in a Shore Challenge game at FirstEnergy Park.

Slate, who gave up four runs, just one earned, on four hits, extended his scoreless innings streak for the season to 27 before Passaic Tech scored an unearned run in the fourth. He extended his streak without allowing an earned run to 29 before Passaic Tech scored an earned run in its three-run sixth.

Galeotafiore was 3-for-4 with an RBI and Cirillo was 2-for-3 with a double, triple and an RBI.

Tony who holds the career hit record in the shore confrence,and with how many?

That's a 64 trillian dollar question.

We have no records in that area.

We have records for HR (Marc Fink 27) and pitching wins (Casey Gaynor 34) and coaching wins (Ken Frank, number escapes me at the moment), but that's it.

They (hits) were never kept and Conference goes back a lonnnng way.
