GAME REPORTS

Keith Weinkfosky is almost there.
The Ocean Township High School senior catcher blasted his 26th career home run Wednesday, one off the Shore Conference career record, to help lead the Spartans to a 6-3 nondivison win over Red Bank.
The two-run, opposite field shot to right field in the fourth inning , his seventh of the season, snapped a 2-2 tie and gave Ocean (17-4), No. 3 in the Asbury Park Press Top 10 Poll, the lead over the Bucs (4-16).
Jackson Memorial assistant coach Marc Fink owns the career record of 27 as well as the single season conference record of 14 he set as a senior in 1994.
Ocean's next game is 3:45 p.m. Friday vs. No. 4 St. Rose at the Shore Christian Academy in Wall.
The nondivision game will become a Monmouth County Tournament quarterfinal if the Purple Roses defeat Manasquan Thursday.
The home run accounted for Weinkofsky's 100th and 101st career RBI which broke the school record of former New York Yankee farmhand Tim Flannelly who graduated in 1988.
Ocean has no more regularly scheduled games after Friday, thus all of its games could be in tournaments though Ocean coach Del Dal Pra said he hopes to schedule at least one more contest along the way to keep the team sharp.

POINT BORO 5, MANCHESTER 1 :Mike Gynn and Pete Chomiak combined to scatter six hits as the Panthers (11-10) ousted the Hawks (13-6) in the first round of the SCT and move onto face No. 4 seed Ocean.
Gynn, a junior right-hander, struck out six over five innings before Chomiak finished .
Jim Squillante scored two runs and Pat Biserta doubled and scored a run for Point Boro which scored three unearned runs without a hit in the third inning.

FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP 6, MONMOUTH 1:Austin Henderson, Matt Cadigan and Rodger Wilmot combined on a three-hitter for the Patriots (11-8) as they downed the Golden Falcons (9-10) .

Tony, why would SR use Raunado vs Squan instead of a top 10 Ocean team??
Is it possible to split the game if SR puts some runs up early and use him to maybe close vs Ocean??

If Ranaudo pitches (or pitched) four innings Wednesday he may pitch up to six the next day - that's how I read the rule anyway...

Tony, I guess Ranoudo pitched only 4 innings if he is elligible to pitch 6 innings thursday vs Squan. Why would Bart pull Ranoudo after 4 with a 2 run lead. Also will St rose still play Ocean Friday if they lose to Squan. The Ocean St Rose game has been on the schedualsince day 1. My guess is Bart will find a way out of the Ocean game. Save his pitching for the 2 games on sat at the blue claws. I guess we willsee how good St. Rose is now

Tony, not as rediculous as you think, research EVERY bid tourney game he has been involved in and you'll see that 3 out of 4 have been moved to alternate days to help his pitching..including 2 last year

Look...I'm not doing any "research" on this..if you want to, fine. Let me know how it comes out.

But it takes two teams to agree to move a game. You sound a little jealous of St. Rose to me.

In the end..they are in the MCT, SCT, and NJSIAA. Their NJSIAA appearances will be later to be sure.

But they can't pitch Ranaudo every game ( I don't think) and we'll see how things go.

How does a player get to the 100 RBI for a career in just 2-3 years
sounds a little inflated ?? or am I not getting it, same with the HR record thats being thrown around Fink had 27 in just 2-3 years of Varsity BB?? and the Ocean kid has almost that many..again sound inflated???

You're right.....we're making all this stuff up. Gosh, you found us out.

Actually - you're not getting it. Both Fink and Weinkofksy were (are) four year varsity players.

I guess you weren't paying attention when we ran Weinkofsky's historical hone run chart in RALLY back at the start of the season..

Tell you what.. when he breaks the record we'll run it again..
