Who: #1 CBA (24-4) vs. #2 Wall (21-7)
When/Where: 3:45 p.m., Monday, Monmouth Regional High School
CBA probable starting pitcher: Remy Cohen Jr. LH (4-0, 2.07 ERA). CBA leading hitters: Dave Laufer (Sr., DH, .513, 8 HR, 42 RBI); Mike Galeotafiore (Sr., 3B, .475, 4 HR, 25 RBI); Scott Micallef (Sr., RF, .432, HR, 32 RBI); Jim Laufer (Sr., 1B, 10 HR, 32 RBI). CBA road to the final: defeated Red Bank 10-1; Red Bank Catholic 4-0; Shore 8-1.
Wall probable starting pitcher: Craig Hughes Sr. RH (5-1, 2.00 ERA). Wall leading hitters: Drew Pinero (Sr., LF, .382, HR, 23 RBI); Matt Logan (Sr., 1B, .375, HR, 32 RBI); Craig Hughes (.373, 2 HR, 16 RBI); Andrew Otterberg (Sr., CF, HR, 20 RBI). Wall road to the final: defeated Middletown South 7-3, Holmdel 12-3; Ocean 10-8.
The skinny: CBA and Wall are both going for their fourth titles, CBA last winning in in 2000 and Wall in 2005. Wall has the advantage of starting its senior ace while CBA will not start 11-0 Kyle Slate or 7-2 Dave Laufer with the Colts playing an NJSIAA semifinal and in the Shore Conference Tournament final Tuesday and Wednesday. Cohen, however, is capable of cranking up a good one with wins over Howell, Marlboro, Gloucester Catholic (which defeated St. Rose Friday), and Red Bank. CBA bested Wall in a May 22 regular season game behind Laufer, 5-2.
My pick: CBA, 5-3.

No offense tony, but strong wins over "howell, marlboro, and red bank?" i will give you gloucster catholic but the other three aren't anything special especially with CBA's run support.
Where did I use the word "strong?"
At the same time those are three varsity Shore Conference teams that could occasionally be dangerous (seems to me especially Howell which did beat CBA), Marl. has a win over Free. Twp., and RBR had wins over Rar. and Free. Twp.

Anyway..with the MCT game PP til Thursday, CBA` starter now very much depends on what happens Tuesday (states) and Wed (SCT).
