Nice to see Slate got some action in before the end of the season.
In other prospect news, Todd Frazier was bumped up to LoA Dayton this week. Two games under his belt, one hit (a 2B) thus far. Still getting his sea legs adjusting to the pitching quality it seems....
Todd was up over .330 at Billings and pounding the ball before he was promoted...
Congrats to Todd in moving up in the Cincy organization.
Nice to see Slate get some action before the season closed with the Phillies, I'm sure they will work with him all winter with an offseason program.
Todd's older brother, Jeff has been hitting the ball much better after being repromoted back to the Mariners AA squad about a month ago
The real interesting thing about Todd's promotion is that he is still playing SS. Zach Cozart was moved over to 2B since the call up. And Cozart is a former All-American SS (like Todd)from Ole' Miss who was hailed for his defense (unlike Todd). The SEC is as good as it comes. Obviously the Reds are encouraging Todd's development at the SS position. Unexpected.
When Todd's season is complete I hope to contact him and Kyle for their takes on the first pro summers...
Todd may of had his best game of his professional career, 2-3 with 2 HR's and 4 RBI's last night with the Dayton Dragons. Although its just been a few games, it looks like Todd is having no problem adjusting to the pitching in "A" ball
Todd batting .333, 2 HR, 5 RBI in five games at Dayton...gosh I wish the Phillies would have drafted him....sigh...
Jeff overall at AA .242, 3 HR, 28 RBI...
