POLL RESULTS of You're the GM

This is - of course - theoretical. Very.

You're the GM of an expansion high school baseball team that is opening up next season in the theoretical TG Conference.

The commissioner (me - who else?) is allowing you to begin your team by drafting any one pitcher and any one position player - senior, junior, etc. from a 2007 Shore Conference high school baseball team.

What pitcher and what position player do you select - AND - and what current Shore Conference head coach do you choose to guide your first year team???

I added up what we have so far as of Sunday morning June 24

Pitchers votes: Slate 9, DeSclafani 2, Ranaudo 2, Zecchino

Players votes - Tuna 6, Talerico 3, Rusbarsky 2, Cousins, Battaglia, Biserta

Coaches votes - Frank 6, Del Pra 3, Huzzy, Morgan, James, Yorke, Malanga, and the immortal Bernie Goldwater (former long time Free. Township coach)

Slate as the pitcher

Tuna or Talerico as position player (you can build a team around both these kids)

Ken Frank as the coach (there is a reason why he leads the shore conference and state in wins)

To start a team you need to have a BIG foundation so of course you need the big men TUNA and SLATE to start off with after that just add some team speed and some middle IF gloves and add coach Frank and you have the beginnings og a 25 win seqason !!!!

right idea, too many players.
go with Kalish pitching and Wagner catching,2 very promising freshmen.
Also the coach from Neptune is doing a great job.

if you do go young then go with
Rosenkranz from ocean on the mound(you can use him anywhere also)and the wagner kid from L.B.,a freshmen who is soon to be allshore.

Joe Wagner,a freshmen catcher started varsity for L.B. (i know they are not a powerhouse but the kid is the real deal)he also hit somewhere in the low 400`s.

I've seen the kid play he's pretty good but he needs to mature a little bit.

yea im devin cousins..i played with joe hes got a ton of potential..needs to learn how to call a game still from behind the plate but he has a tremendous upside and i wish i could have played with him more because he only got half the season..but i know he will be happy to lose the "freshie" nickname we gave him

Re: Wags. I'll definitely try to keep tabs on him in '08. Sounds like he may be worth the attention.

Coach Jarmusz is one of the best in-game coaches I know.

As someone who has been able to eaves drop on coaches talking to their teams between innings I have found his insight into specific situations to be at the highest of levels - in my opinion.
