NY/Penn League Offensive Player of the Week (published July 16)
Ryan Kalish, Lowell.800 (12-15), 6 R, 3 2B, 1 3B, 2 HR, 5 RBI, 4 BB, 1 SO, 4 SB, 1.533 SLGThe season is still young, but Kalish is already developing into one of the best prospects in the New-York Penn League. The 19-year-old seems to have hitting down to a science, as he posted four-straight three-hit games (including two home runs) last week for a chart-topping 1.533 slugging percentage. Kalish, who is among the league leaders in almost every offensive category, proved just how dangerous he can be once he gets on base, snagging four of his league-leading 18 stolen bases in his last two games.

Kalish will be up in the bigs within three years. he has got it all!! speed on the bases & in the outfield and of course a great bat.

He's had a hot bat indeed. Unfortunately he's been hampered with a wrist problem and kept out of the line up the last 4-5 games....
I was just in touch via e-mail with the Lowell Media relations person who told me the same thing.. he said they are not sure what the problem is...
