Is there anything better than playoff football?

Going to be a windy one out there on Friday. Lets see what that does to the passing attacks of some of the "more skilled teams".

On another note, after watching this weeks Rally Cast, I cannot help but think that maybe during the current writters strike, Adelizzi should star in his own reality show. I know I would watch!!!

Re: RallyCast. We've already set TV ""Journalism"' back about 20 years. You wanna go for another 10??

Next week we'll have the great Adelizzi- vs. Falk debate on the merits of Turkey Day football...we haven't taped it yet but it should take care of those other 10!@#

Speaking of Turkey day football, and although not pertinent to the current blog entry, I intend on writing a nice post next week blasting the NJSIAA for ending a tradition that dates back to the 70's thanksgiving game between Holmdel and Keyport starting next year. Travesty!

But I digress...

I could be wrong about some of this but I am almost certain it's not the NJSIAA re: this rivalry.

I believe the schools may choose their Txgiving opponents or they are picked for them by the Shore Conference computer.

Next year, with the new alignments and all - Holmdel plays Raritan on Txgiving - not a bad match up in my view...

Re: Picking the games. There are six of us that do it overall (it's just not practical to have the whole gang on Round Table).

Our records and standings run in the Press each week (including tomorrow - Friday).

I am currently in last place (sigh) but I have also finished on top in some years (as recently as 2005) when the moon and stars were all perfectly aligned.

If a team picks their Turkey day game, and they are still in the playoff picture-do they have to play that day??? doen't seem to make to much sense if a player (key)gets hurt and could hurt their chances........

Turkey day - some schools make prior arrangements that if one or both are in the playoffs ...than the game is pushed back to the Saturday after Txgiving.

Some others - Squan and Wall for instance - play on Turkey day come playoffs or high water...

Pt Boro - Hey, I'll talk about Pt Boro. People have to bring it up though.

Calvin is on the Coach of the Year Poll.

It's been sort of a quiet 8-1 season for the Panthers, if that' possible.

I think it's just that teams like Holmdel and A Park have come out of nowhere.

And, of course you had Holmdel perhaps beaten, and let them get away..Right?

You can still make considerable noise by winning SJ Group II.

I THINK IT'S GONNA BE ONE HECK OF A GAME. ASBURY DEFENSE HAS PICKED UP AND PLAYED AT A HIGH LEVEL OVER THE LAST COUPLE OF WEEKS, SO HAS THE KEANSBURG OFFENSE. ONE OF THEM HAS TO GIVE A LITTLE. THAT GAME IS A MUST SEE!!
