Latest Word on Freehold District out of Monmouth County Tournament?

Just spoke with Pete Bruno - Howell Athletic Director. ""All of the Freehold Regional High Schools are not going to participate in sub varsity or varsity Monmouth County Tournaments because of "'transportation" issues,'' he said.
""Unless some parents groups come up with the money. ""Saturdays are fine. Weekdays are the problem.''

According to Pete it comes down to funding for bus drivers.

This means NONE of the district baseball players will be eligible for the RICH VETH $500 SCHOLARSHIP AWARD. The winner last year was - FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP shortstop Tom Poricelli. Wow.

Re: MCIT. Ridiculous! In my opinion - parents should attend the next BOE meeting and ask
what the heck is going on.
