MANALAPAN 7, CBA 3:A Brian Tamalone squeeze bunt, an RBI single Dave Becker, and consecutive RBI doubles by Shawn McGrane and Nick Turano featured a four-run second inning as the Braves (7-3, 4-3) swept the regular season series from the No. 3 Colts (5-3, 5-3) for the first time in memory in a Class A North game.
Senior right-hander Mitchell Litt allowed thrtee hits over the first six innings before Dave Laufer hit his third home run in three days, a three-run shot in the seventh.
McGrane, Turano, and Chris Lamboy all had two hits and drove in a run for Manalapan which will play for a fourth day in a row Saturday when it visits Middletown North.

In the Monmouth County Tournament:
RARITAN 5, MIDD. NORTH 1: Marc Zecchino belted a two-run triple and Charlie Rivera slammed a two-run homer in a four-run fifth inning as the 12th-seeded Rockets defeated (3-4) fifth-seeded Lions (5-4) in a first-round game.
Dan Benfer pitched a complete-game to pick up the win and Joe Doerrer had two hits for Raritan, which will the play the winner of Red Bank Catholic-Keyport in the quarterfinals.

FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP 9, HOWELL 4: Chris Ballester singled, doubled walked twice, and stole two bases as the Patriots (5-3, 4-3) defeated the Rebels (2-4, 2-4) in a Class A Notth game. Brian Cooney added two hits, drove in a run, and stole two bases.
Ballester's two-run single and RBI singles Chris Gheraldi and Tom Wojoiechowski in a five-run fifth inning broke the game open.
TR EAST 9, BRICK MEMORIAL 4: Sean Gavin homered and went 3-for-4 with a double and scored three runs and Brady Doyle was 2-for-4 and scored two runs and drove in one as the No. 5 Raiders (5-3, 5-3) defeated the Mustangs (1-7, 0-6) in a Class A South game.
Steve Fereno improved to 2-0 by hurling a five-hitter with four strikeouts.
Kyle Heilbroun was 2-for-4 with a homer for Brick Memorial.

LAKEWOOD 16, CENTRAL 0: Joe Curry threw a one-hitter with four strikeouts and Charles Cunliffe went 3-for-4 with three RBI and scored two runs and Jeff D'Aloia was 2-for-4 with two RBI and three runs scored as the Piners (2-4, 2-3) rolled to a Class B South win over the Golden Eagles (2-6, 2-4).

NEPTUNE 10, MATAWAN 7:Chris Sibole's home run tiggered a four-run fifth innign when the Scarlet Fliers (4-3, 2-3) overcame a 4-3 deficit and went on to down the Huskies (1-6, 1-4) in a Class B North game.
Winning pitcher Chris Ace radded to the rally with a double and contributed a single to a three-run sixth inning.
Ace went 2-for-3 and scored two run while striking out four.
Julian Sonnenfeld hit a solo home for Matawan.

POINT BORO 2, PINELANDS 1: Pat Biserta walked to lead off the bottom of the eighth inning and then eventually scored when he beat the throw home on Jon Tinao's slow roller down the first base line as the Panthers (3-4, 3-3) edged the Wildcats (2-7, 1-6) in a Class B South game.
After Biserta walked, Nick Campbell walked. They both advanced a base on a wild pitch before Tinao's slow roller with one out.
Pinelands tied the game in the fourth on a run-scoring ground out by Ed Truitt.
Pete Chomiak's RBI single in the first gave Point Boro the lead.
Junior right-hander Zack Zahl picked up his first varsity win with 31/3 innings of one-hit relief with two strikeouts and four walks.

COLTS NECK 10, MARLBORO 1: A.J. Rusbarsky went 4-for-4
and Rusbarsky and Anthony Descaklafani betled solo
home runs as the Cougars (6-3, 5-2) defeated the
Mustangs (2-4, 1-4) in as Class A North game.
Winning pitcher Ethah Jackson had a two-run
double in the first inning and Ashton Jackson went
3-for-4 with an RBI in the Colts Neck 12-hit attack.
Tony Roegiers went 2-for-3 and Adam Helfgott
singled, stole two abses, and scored the run for
Marlboro.

ST. ROSE 7, POINT BEACH 5: The No. 9 Purple Roses managed just three hits, but made them count in a Class B Central win over the Garnet Gulls.
St. Rose (4-0, 4-0) scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning, all with two outs, to erase a 4-3 deficit. Owen Stewart (two hits) tripled home the winning run with two outs in the after the tying run scored on a wild pitch.
Anthony Ranaudo capped the frame with a two-run home run.
Point Beach (6-4, 3-3) leadoff hitter Sam Sciamarelli went 2-for-4 with two runs and a stolen base. - Tony Graham
MONMOUTH 13, LONG BRANCH 3: Mike Sevilla went 3-for-4 with five RBI, including a three-run double in the fifth as the No. 7 Golden Falcons (5-2, 4-1) moved into a tie in the loss column with Wall in Class B North with a victory over the Green Wave ( 0-6, 0-5).
Tommy Dayback had three singles, two RBI and scored three runs and Joe Jacoby was 3-for-3 with an RBI and three runs scored for Monmouth.
Junior Marques Jackson gave Long Branch a temporary 2-1 lead with a two-run homer in the third, the first home run of his career.
Monmouth then grabbed the lead with three runs in the third on an RBI triple by Jeff Roche and RBI singles by Dayback and Sevilla.
