Baseball Poll for Saturday May 26/Poll based on games though Thursday

May 26 Poll.
Records through Thursday games

1. CBA (19-4) - last week No 1. Is 14-1 since early season stumbles. Either Dave or Jim Laufer have homered in six of their last nine games.

2. Wall (20-5) - last week No. 2. Class B North champs are 14-1 vs. Shore Conference teams (the loss to CBA) since falling to Ocean in April.

3. Ocean (20-5) - last week No. 3. Perhaps the first of several post-season meetings with Wall is on tap for next week in the SCT.

4. Toms River North (22-4) - last week No. 6. Bounced back from OCT final loss and is only TR team alive in the SCT.

5. Colts Neck (20-6) - Last week No 8. Cougars have won eight of 10 to advance in the SCT and NJSIAA Tournaments. Face TRN next week in the SCT.

6. Jackson (20-6) - Last week No. 10. Have won nine of 10, swept TR East and won two of three from TR South. Alive going into Friday in SCT and NJSIAAs.

7. SJ Vianney (17-6) - Last week. Unranked. Class A Central Non-Public champs have gone 8-0 vs. Shore Conference teams since losing to Ocean and upset TR East in SCT Wednesday.

8. TR East (20-7) - Last week No. 5. Season suddenly over for Ocean County champs.

9. Toms River South (19-7) - Last week. No. 7. Fell to Jackson in the SCT. Tries to stay alive Friday in NJSIAA SJ IV. Result has no bearing on this poll, however.

10. St. Rose (19-3) - Last week No.4. Stock dropped like the '29 Crash with lossses to RBC and Manchester. Ranaudo will apparently try to halt the slide Friday vs. Ocean. Again, result has no bearing on this poll.

Dropped out: Rumson.

Some others being considered (listed alphabetically): Raritan, RB Catholic, Rumson.

My ranking criteria

1. Latest results, trends.

2. Overall body of work.

3. Head to head match ups.

4. Perceived team abilities.
