SCT field updated /My picks below

Who do you think wins it???

My picks in bold

Here is the current field for next Wednesday. All games at 4 p.m. as far as I know.

Upper bracket quarterfinals

1. TRN vs. No. 8 Colts Neck.

4. Ocean vs. No. 5 Wall.

Lower bracket

Quarterfinals

10. Jackson vs. 2. CBA.

11. SJ Vianney
vs.14 Red Bank Catholic (there are many tough calls but this is a doozy, let me tell you)

Lower bracket close up. From this group am staying with CBA - superior mound strength anchored by Kyle Slate with Dave Laufer , Make Galeotafiore eand Remy Cohen backing him up and also the most potent lineup. D. Laufer hit another bomb Saturday.

Not surprised to see RBC and SJ Vianney advancing. SJV's Paul Bacigalupi is pitching up a storm.

Overall, both these clubs can hit...should be a heck of a game.

Great job by Jackson to get this far.... Kudos to the sophomore Needham for sterling effort vs. TR South. But Jags may have to hit more than they have to down CBA.

Upper bracket close up: As I said, Colts Neck didn't tie CBA for first place in A North by accident.Tough call here, but still going with Keith Weinkofsky and the Ocean bats as difference makers. I look for CNeck to upset TR North and Ocean to outlast Wall though expect Wall to IBB Weinkofsky in batting practice.

If my picks prevail (when has this ever happened?!) it's still a CBA vs. Ocean final.

At this point - if both teams are still in the states...it remains to be seen what pitchers will be on the hill since coaches tend to use their No. 1's in the states.

And the winner is....still.........Ocean.

Wall coach will have to (how should I say this on a family site)
ok HE NEEDS TO GROW A SET AND CHALLENGE THE MIDDLE OF THE OCEAN ORDER...if not ..well they're not 20--4 for nuttin ..throw out Ocean's 2--3 start and they are an unbelievable 18-1 over the last 6 weeks..Hey it's late May and it's Tuna Time..I got to go with the Ocean team..just like last year they seem to always find a way...

I will "wildly" predict that Wall / Ocean contest as an over hyped-poorly played game..No Hughes---no Wall win..walk the Ocean catcher and Hinkle-Rosenkrantz will kill you..Wall had like 12 hits the last time and still got beat..Ocean is rolling along now and even with Winkofski getting walked it would appear that Willie "the Jet" Rodrequez is ready to steal 4 more and score 2 or 3 X's..at some point all of these HS coach will realize they just have to put the game in the hands of some 16 /17 yr old kid that can take them to the promised land !!!! CBA and Colts Neck are a real diamond in the rough type pick to move on..I know Slate and Laufer can get people out but so can Sclafani and the Boyz from TRN...should be a real fun week of SC BB..Tony good luck with those picks and HOLY COW can that big kid from Ocean hit...every time I hear a father from the stands saying to "throw him inside..throw him outside" the next thing I know the ball is headed towards Rt 35 !!!...I made today's game after missing the Beserta's BOMB yesterday vs Ocean but I saw something that struck me..numerous kids (little kids..pre little league aged kids) ruinning around with "TUNA T-Shirts" (Picute of KW and Charlie the Tuna) printed on the front..cheering on the Ocean team..thats what coach Del brings to the plate...a system that kids want to play for,,with role models that these little kids look up to...I actually had some fun at the game..just watching it unfold

I like to know how many kids are even near 141 hits in a career like Biserta

So would I. Actually 141..while surely impressive...may not be out of reach for a very good player..especially now that some play four years. I don't have the exact number but I think Weinkofsky may be in the 130's as we speak...Todd Frazier? Jeff Frazier? Marc Fink?

Don't know for sure. Don't have time to research.

Am not sure what the point of this anon is.

Biserta is a wonderful player. We know that.

We don't know what the record for career hits is though.

I have to wonder about some of those CBA players.. Buffone, Lardieri, Vito, guys like that.

Maybe this anon has their stats, too. I would like to see his documentation o" of all these numbers.
