Ocean County Tournament Info
Many of you have been asking.....just spoke with OCT director....
OCT will be seeded Wednesday based on records through Tuesday. We will post the pairings here Wednesday.
17 teams have entered.......there will be one play-in game. Teams will play all day Saturday at Lakewood and Brick High Schools.
Four surviving teams will play in semis next Tuesday at a Toms River neutral (they hope) high school.
OCT final will be Wed or Thursday night at FirstEnergy Park.

Is this a straight 1-17 seeding process... or is it going to be like last year where they break up the teams into groups.
Brick and Lakewood, neither school has great fields
There will be two groups.....TR East and TR South will not be in the same group.
Tony You seem to go to great lengths to kill the teams that do not enter the Monmouth County Tourney in your articles. When compared to the OCT and the MCT (softball) it is quite poorly organized and causes major planning problems for the participants. A team which received a bye in the first round has yet to play its second round game while Wall is at the other side of the bracket waiting to play. At this rate the Wall football players won't be able to play in the final due to the Thanksgiving game. Maybe you can use your great influence to speak to the organizing committee. A format similar to the OCT or even an amalgam of both the OCT and the MCT (softball) tourney might bring those schools back. Somethings got to happen.
I don't know that I "kill" teams that do not enter the MCT...
But anyway...
For sure the OCT (baseball) is more organized for - I think - two reasons -
1. Always a smaller field of teams
2. And I believe considerably more cooperation and coordination with the ADs in Ocean with their baseball coaches than in Monmouth.
I addressed this last year..MCT needs a format similar to Ocean with a day - or two - of opening games at facilties such as the Wall Complex, and other fine facilities.
Again - it comes down to cooperation and coordination between the ADs and the
coaches..Ocean has it, Monmouth doesn't, or doesn't appear to.
And thanks for bestowing all that "great infleunce" on me. Didn't know I had it.
But if I do, I think I'll go try it out on my boss now for a raise...!!
TRS and TRE wont be in the same group? And how do you know that Tony? Did you get some insider information
Would you like to share lol
I got it from the OCTIA (Ocean County Tournament Intelligence Agency)..what a mouthful that was!
