COLTS NECK ROAD TO THE FINAL: Defeated Point Beach, 12-0, defeated Rumson-FH, 3-2, Toms River North, 3-0, defeated Ocean, 5-4.
THE SKINNY: CBA is shooting for its fifth title and first since it won three in a row from 2000-2002. Overall it is 4-1 in SCT championship games ... The Colts had won 19 of 20 before losing in the NJSIAA Tournament on Tuesday ... CBA toppled Colts Neck twice during the regular season behind Laufer, 6-2, and 6-0 ....Colts Neck, in its eighth varsity season, all under coach Mike Yorke, is appearing in its first SCT final. It got there in impressive fashion highlighted by road wins over top-seeded Toms River North behind DeSclafani and No.‚4 seed and defending champion Ocean.
My pick: I know DeSclafani has been pitching very well but it may be tough to hold down that CBA lineup two days in a row. CBA, 6-4.
