THE SKINNY: Ocean is trying to return to the Group III state final for the second year in a row and third time overall. It won its only Group III championship in 1985. Seneca's Grovatt is bound for Virginia and Williams to Penn. The Golden Eagles have been torrid with the bats of late. The third year program was born out of the Lenape school district. It made it to the sectional final in its rookie year of of 2005. Today's winner plays the winner of today's North Jersey III final between Montville and Cranford.

My pick - Norman had a little bit of a "sore arm" late in the season according to coach Del Dal Pra who said he is fine for this start.

I was surprised Monday night when Seneca coach Dave Lafferty told me he plans to start Pepper as opposed to Grovatt. I speculate Grovatt, like Norman, has seen heavy duty this year. Of course Grovatt could take the mound at a moment's notice.

My premonition is a tough game for Ocean which may have to break out the bats to win this one.

Ocean, 8-6 (but it's shaky).
