As crushed as I am right now, I wanted to congratulate Rumson for their playoff win tonight and wish them best of luck in the championship.

I also wanted to thank Coach Carlstrom and all of the Holmdel Hornets for all of their hard work and joy they pumped into the town this year. Although this loss hurts, you have done something that many thought impossible. Make us believe again. Thank you. Now lets end this season on the right note and get that 10th win against Keyport.

Hats off to Southern for earning their way into last nights game. You just can't turn the ball over as much as they did and expect to stay with a much bigger TRN team.

Congrats to TRN on the only 10-0 start in school history ! I'm afraid the easiest part of the schedule is behind them, as TRE is next... focused on a share of the division title...with nothing else to play for. Then, a Mainland team that's had VERY impressive playoff wins in the past two weeks. Should be a solid test of the TRN staffs coaching ability. GOOD LUCK TRN !

Question: Should TRE beat TRN, both schools will be tied with Southern. Does the Shore Conference recognize tri-champions ?

East? Have they beat a team with a winning record? Nope! Jackson 5-5, is the best team that they have beat.

Doesn't matter what districts, regions, counties or states, there is nothing like high school football around this time of year.

Congratulations to the teams that made it to the championship rounds. Best of luck to all the schools that advances.

I miss my Shore Conference football games.

Long live Blue and Gold...Go Mariners!!!

WOW!!!
What a Total melt-down w/ 2 min to go in thre half....It was a close game until that!!!
you have to give credit to the players and their coaches for a very hard played and Big playoff win>TRNorth played like Champions!!
as a Southern Fan it was sad.. but the one sore spot I have w/ "BIG JOE's A" collumn and I'm sure the Southern Offensive players know (it's on film), nose gaurd never got passed the line of scrimage! even the Ref told the Southern center -he had a heck of a game!
I can not say the same for the ends (callapsed) and the way Kane dominated the rest of the field- After Carson's two bad longsnaps and the mis-handled kick off returns.. the defense was onthe field too much..
it was over at the half!!!
GOOD LUCK TO TRN!!!

To the poster of the "nose gaurd never got passed the line of scrimage", that's correct because that his JOB in their defense. My son says he's supposed to uphold the line of scrimmage, not go beyond like the other nose guards from teams that you played and beat (also on film - must mean something?). I was at the game, didn’t see anyone from TRNorth getting pushed back and if the Southern center did such as fantastic job then why didn’t they try to continue to run up the middle (also on Film – they had no success).. I’m sure Coach Donohue won’t share your feeling when he watches the film. Learn the overall design & responsibilities of a defense before making such oblivious statements.

Re; to son's inside-knowledge of the game..
Comment posted due to -the column of Big Joe A.. he said the nose guard got in,,, try to read the APP and the reason for the comments!! not to make anyone else look bad! Just the writer...
by your own admission he holds the line -look at tapes again???
Granted!
the "O" line wasn't on the field that much -Turn overs and all-
I guess w/ all the domination, the D-line doesnt try to get to the QB in passing downs either??
LB -did a graet job of breaking down the "O"
I wish the Best of Luck to TRN players on a GREAT YEAR!! beat Mainland!!!
TRN played better
and is in the "Ship"
