I get to see Ocean play and have to see the Wall coach put the catcher on twice...Didn't make any sense at the time ( the last time was in the 7th with 2 outs and no one on base??...I thought the pitcher had to throw to the catcher even if it was intentional walks ...the Wall coach just pointed to first base and the batter was awarded the base??what gives?? I like the Blog Tony keep it up

As for intentional walks - in high school ball (not sure about college) the coach informs the umpire it's an intentional walk and the batter is awarded first base.
Saves time I guess.
The Ocean catcher is slugger Keith Weinkofsky, still looking for that first home run of the season.
IBBS are probably one reason why.
Before the season Wall coach Todd Schmitt told me no way was Weinkofsky going to hurt him.
Guess he meant it.
