Baseball Poll for May 12th
May 12 Poll. Records through Thursday games
1. Wall (16-3) - last week No 3. Class B North champs are 16-1 vs. Shore Conference opposition.
2. CBA (16-3) - last week No. 4. Is 13-1 since a slow start. The Laufers are on fire.
3. Ocean (15-4) - last week No. 2. Had its 13-game winning streak snapped but has the potential to launch another major run.
4. St. Rose (15-1) - last week No. 7. Ranaudo and the Roses overwhelmed last week's No. 1 Toms River North.
5. Toms River North (16-3) - last week No. 1. It's a weekly poll.
6. Toms River East (15-5) - last week No. 5. TR North won A South championship. So everybody drops one with rise of the Roses and poll TRN's tumble.
7. Toms River South (15-5) - last week No. 6.
8. Jackson (14-5) - last week unranked. Returns to poll in wake of a sweep of TR East after being up and down following a hot streak.
9. Colts Neck (14-5) - Last week No. 9. Waiting for the SCT and states.
10. Rumson (14-3) - Last week No. 10.
Some others being considered (listed alphabetically): Manchester, Manalapan, RB Catholic, SJ Vianney.
Interesting game Friday - will not be reflected in this week's poll. TR North vs. RB Catholic. Fireballer J.C. Menna to start for RBC.,
Dropped out: Manalapan.

2. Overall body of work.
3. Head-to-head meetings.
4. Perceived team abilities.

Schedule for today's games?
Wow, my biggest question would have to be this: You have TRN dropping 4 spots to #5 this week. TRN lost to a RANKED St. Rose team. You have Ocean Twp dropping one spot to #3 after losing to an UNRANKED Middletown North team. 13 game winning streak or not... they lost to an UNRANKED team. Then you have teams such as Toms River East and Toms River South (possibly one of hottest teams in the Shore right now) dropping another spot for really no good reason.
I guess thats why they pay you the big bucks Tony.
My Top Ten would look more like this:
1) CBA-- Laufer Brother on fire
2) Wall-- Solid pitching, Division champions
3) St.Rose- Hasnt lost to SC team yet
4) TRN- A-South Champions, Enough Said
5) TRS- Won their last 10 of 11 games, given up 3 runs in last 5 games
6) Ocean Twp- Offense is heating up
7) TRE-- Swept TRS, 3 one-run loses
8) Jackson--Swept TRE this year
9) Colts Neck--Co Champions with CBA
10) Manchester-- Has flown under the radar on year. B-South champions

It was like 12:30 a.m. when I left , had lots to do, and forgot to put it on..sorry..
To anon pollster..not a bad job.. When you see those big bucks please let me know.
I also take into consideration prior weeks rankings so I wasn' t going to jump CBA over Wall which is about as hot as CBA ..
Ocean's stumble cost them a spot but I'm not going to clobber them for it - they are playing as well as anyone....
Rumson has been playing better than than Manchester - in my view
Nice job though..
Also...St. Rose HAD to go shead of TR N this week in this head on clash - in my view. So how high do I rank St. Rose then?
End result - TRN falling and having won A South pushes some others down and Jackson had to return...again..it's a weekly poll.
